It seems like every year VMworld comes along with the tagline “The Year of…” Last year, or the last 2 it seems, has been the year of desktop virtualization. What’s it going to be this year? If I had to guess, I would say the tagline would be “The Year of the Cloud”. That’s seems appropriate with the direction that VMware is charging towards with Project Octopus, AppBlast, SlideRocket and of course vCloud Director. Maybe it will again be the year of desktop virtualization, who knows. This will be my 3rd VMworld conference and it should be interesting to see what the buzz is around seeing as last year was pretty huge with the GA announcement of vSphere 5. Either way, you can rest assured if you attend VMworld you will hear or see someone or something proclaiming it to be “The Year of…”. What’s your guess?
