Just got the word last night that I’ve been selected to join an elite group of critical thinkers, authors and top-notch bloggers as a Tech Field Day delegate. If you haven’t heard about Gestalt IT’s Tech Field Day events, get over to Gestalt IT as well as the Tech Field Day website to get an idea of who is involved in these events and what goes on. First off, I have to say I am humbled by the opportunity to join a couple of other new Field Day Delegates as well as the group of regulars for this 3 day event in Silicon Valley. Here is the official release on the first Tech Field Day event of 2011:

Gestalt IT’s first datacenter-focused Field Day event of 2011 will be held on February 10 and 11 in Silicon Valley! This unique event brings together innovative IT product vendors and independent thought leaders, allowing them to get to know one another. It is a forum for engagement, education, hands-on experience, and feedback. This is Gestalt IT’s third year of Tech Field Day events – learn more at the Tech Field Day site!

Who? What? When? & Where?
The event will be held February 9th through the 11th in Silicon Valley and is sure to be an exciting event for those of us who are lucky enough to attend, and also exciting for those who wish to get a glimpse through the live streams as well as the many twitter feeds and live blogging that will be happening. A preliminary list of vendors was released yesterday and they consist of Symantec, Data Robotics (the first 3 time Tech Field Day presenter) and NetEx. The list of Field Day delegates is composed of Tech Field Day alumni as well as a few Tech Field Day rookies, they are: Sean Clark, Robin Harris, Bill Hill, Tom Hollingsworth, Scott D. Lowe, Devang Panchigar, W. Curtis Preston, Maish Saidel-Keesing, Eric Siebert, Chris Wells, and myself. Surely you know some of the names listed as they are all heavy hitters in the social media arena as well as respected members in the virtualization field.

A big thanks to Stephen Foskett and Gestalt IT for extending me this great honor and amazing opportunity, it looks to be an exciting 3 days!
