While at VMworld 2011 this year in Las Vegas, I just so happened to be in the Blogger’s Lounge just outside the solutions exchange and John Troyer grabbed me and said, “Hey, you wanna interview Steve Herrod?” Yep, I jumped on the opportunity to grab a few minutes from a super busy guy for an interview on my blog. First off, Steve is a really great guy, very cool, and nice of him to take 5 minutes to meet me and have a quick chat before getting him on camera for an interview. What do you ask the CTO of VMware on the spot? This was pretty crazy, I think I came up with some good questions, you’ll have to be the judge of that. John liked my questions, I’m indebted to you John, thanks for hooking me up. You’ll have to forgive the background noise, it’s pretty atrocious. I was armed with a flip camera and no external mic. I’m ponying up for a nicer camera next year with wireless lapel mics so the sound will be better. Again, sorry for the noise in the background, listen closely, it was an awesome interview, easily the best 3.5 minutes of my VMworld 2011 experience.
