Today is a very happy day for me here at vDestination. Today we add a new blog page to the vDestination site, simply titled, vLATAM. What is this page all about? It’s actually a new blog all within itself which is entirely written in Spanish. The focus of vLATAM is to stir the virtualization pot in the LATAM. I wanted to find a vehicle to get the virtualization discussion really going strong in LATAM and thought this would be just the right way to do it. I obviously can’t speak or write Spanish fluently, however I did take 2 years of Spanish in high school, it still doesn’t qualify me to write about technical topics in the language. I’ve enlisted a group of incredible members of the LATAM community who focus on virtualization as a full-time job and also a hobby.

How Did vLATAM Get Started?
I met up with Larry Gonzalez this past August at VMworld 2012 in San Francisco and I could tell how passionate he was about VMware and virtualization as a whole. Then I was able to connect up with a VMworld 2010 buddy of mine Al Ruiz, and if you’ve ever met Al, you know how passionate he is about virtualization, he just beams with excitement when he talks about it. There are a few others who I ran into at VMworld or on Twitter that really just got me excited about reaching out to the LATAM community and trying to add my enthusiasm and see how far we could go with it.

How Can I Be Involved?
If you are interested and have as much passion as the others I mentioned in this post, please contact me and sign up to become a regular contributor to vLATAM via I would love to have you and so would everyone who is out there reading blogs looking for great up to date and technical info to share in their space. I’m lucky to have Larry Gonzalez as my co-editor of the vLATAM blog, and we have Al Ruiz as well as a couple of others that have signed on to be regular contributors. Don’t be afraid, if you feel like you can’t write but want to contribute, contact us and we’ll find a way to get you involved. As always, thanks for reading and please spread the word about this new blog with all of your coworkers and friends.
